Kids Kino Lab abre su convocatoria de becas

Kids Kino Lab (KKL), the international script development workshop for scriptwriters and producers of films and series for young audiences, has opened its call for applications for its scholarship programme, intended for script consultants and a young producer who will act as assistants to the tutors of the Kids Kino Lab programme.

Those eligible to apply for the KKL scholarship include writers, script consultants and young producers who are interested in making films for kids, who are eager to be assistants to one of the Kids Kino Lab tutors, and who would also like to learn crucial skills from KKL tutors in the fields of script consulting and production basics, while also putting these skills into practice and gaining experience from the professionals.

Each edition of KKL welcomes about 12 projects, which are developed over a period of nine months under the guidance of tutors and invited experts. During that period, the writers and script consultants will gain knowledge on how to lead the project, give feedback and consult on the project. They will be helping on the organisational level and will be involved in the process of preparing for the sessions. A specific film education is not required, but in order to apply for the scholarship, the potential participants should have some experience in the field of script consulting (on a short, full-length or other related project). A total of three scholarships will be on offer.

As for the young producers, they will have a chance to work with more experienced producers and see how the development process takes shape from a production point of view. Part of their tasks will involve collecting information about the production situation in Europe and the countries of the KKL participants, and helping to organise the master classes and consultations with invited guests. One young producer will be selected for this scholarship.

The application deadline is 22 November, and more details can be found here, while the application form is available here. The scholarship is free of charge, which means there is no fee to take part in the programme, but at the same time, the participants will not be receiving a salary. The programme kicks off at the beginning of 2022.

The programme is co-financed by the MEDIA sub-programme of Creative Europe and by the Polish Film Institute. The Kids Kino Lab partners for the seventh edition are Zlín Film Festival, JEF Festival and Kids Kino Industry. Kids Kino Lab is one of the industry strands of the Kids Kino International Film Festival.
