The TTB sessions focus on script development, co-production between Asia and Europe, public and private financing in the two regions, pitching, marketing, and distribution. The participants will have a chance to meet leading Asian and European sales agents, financiers and potential co-producers during the first workshop, which will take place at the end of November or the beginning of December in Singapore, during the Southeast Asian Film Financing (SAFF) Forum and Asia TV Forum & Market. The second workshop will run at the end of April or the beginning of May 2022 in Udine, Italy, as an integral part of the Udine Far East Film Festival and FOCUS ASIA.

A total of five European and five Asian producers who are focusing on project development will be selected. The programme welcomes not only feature-length fiction films, but also TV series or animated fiction flicks that are in development, while the directors of the projects are also welcome to participate in the workshop. Furthermore, European professionals aiming to work with Asia can apply, including sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, co-production market representatives and producers who would like to further develop their careers. A total of five career participants will form part of the group, and in order to be more active, they can partner up with project participants and attend the meetings with experts and decision makers together. The selection will be made by a committee and will be announced by mid-October.

Regarding the previous participants, Italian sales agent Geremia Biagiotti (Intramovies) mentioned: “Ties That Bind offers a terrific way of learning and seeing things from another perspective in collaboration with skilled and experienced professionals from different territories with highly relevant experience in their own industry.” Meanwhile, Alemberg Ang, of the Philippines’ Daluyong Studios, added: “Ties That Bind is a great way for Asian and European producers to meet and learn from each other. It's also a huge help in shaping and forming my project to enable it to meet the needs of the international market.”
