ficha de la película], a film by Raphaël Balboni and Ann Sirot, which uses humour to tackle the topic of neurodegenerative diseases, is the winner of the Exhibition Competition held within the 39th edition of the Bergamo Film Meeting, which closed on Saturday following an online ceremony. Voted upon by the audience, the Belgian production was awarded the Bergamo Film Meeting Prize to the tune of €5,000. The international jury, meanwhile, presided over by Martha Otte (Senior Programmer at the Tromsø International Film Festival) and further composed of Dominique Cabrera (director) and Luciano Barisone (journalist and film critic), bestowed its Best Director trophy, worth €2,000, upon Greek newcomer Sonia Liza Kenterman for her sartorially-focused film Tailor [+lee también:

The audience-voted CGIL Bergamo Best Documentary Prize, worth €2,000 and awarded to films screening within the festival’s Close Up section, was won by Pepe Andreu and Rafa Molés’ documentary Lobster Soup [+lee también:

ficha de la película], a co-production between Spain, Iceland and Lithuania which homes in on a small Icelandic village doomed to disappear, while the CGIL Jury Prize - ‘La Sortie de l’Usine’, decided upon by trade union delegates from Bergamo’s General Confederation of Labour - the CGIL - and awarded to the documentary which best tackles themes relating to the world of work and social issues (€1,000), was handed to All That I Am [+lee también:

ficha de la película] by Norwegian director and producer Tone Grøttjord-Glenne, for its story about a sexual abuse survivor and her battle to be heard. Last but not least, a Special Mention was scooped by Maka Gogaladze’s Georgian medium-length work My Piece Of The Earth, which explores the rapid and radical changes brought about in Tbilisi by the collapse of the Soviet Union.
