At its 104th session, the Walloon regional investment fund Wallimage has granted its support to 10 new projects. Standing out among them are two Belgian feature debuts, from Delphine Girard and Mathias Sercu.

Last January, young filmmaker Delphine Girard won the ArteKino International Award as part of the Coproduction Village of Les Arcs Film Festival, for her feature debut, Quitter la nuit [+lee también:

. The director was also noted a few months ago for her short film Une soeur, which qualified for the final round of the Oscars. Her feature debut reunites her with the excellent cast of her short film (Veerle Baetens, as well as Selma Alaoui and Guillaume Duhesme, who will be playing the same characters), who will be joined by Canadian actress Anne Dorval. The film is produced by Belgian company Versus Production.

The other Belgian feature debut receiving support is J’aime la vie, from Flemish actor and director Mathias Sercu, a family drama starring two actors well known by the Flemish public for their participation in the successful TV series The Twelve (De Twaalf) (Charlotte De Bruyne and Greet Verstraete). Produced in Flanders by Lunanime, the film is co-produced in Wallonia by Tarantula.

Among the other projects supported are two second seasons for animated TV series broadcast, among other places, on France Télévision: La Famille Blaireaux-Renard and Partie de Campagne; and two live action series: Attraction, a Belgian series produced by French-language TV channel RTBF and production company Les Gens, written by Barbara Abel and Sophia Perié; as well as Karen, a Scandinavian series inspired by the life of cult writer Karen Blixen, produced in Denmark by Zentropa and in Belgium by Belga Films.

The fund is also supporting Des corps et des batailles, the second installment in a documentary series centred on hospitals and on Covid, directed by Christophe Hermans and produced by Frakas and Dérives; as well as three European features: the German film Black Box [+lee también:
