The technical crew attached to the project includes DoP Laurent Brunet, editor Andrew Bird, composer Pascal Schumacher, sound designer Carlo Thoss, production designer Christina Schaffer, costume designer Uli Simon, make-up artist Barbara Kreuzer and casting director Mai Seck. Shooting will take place between Lanzarote, Hamburg and Luxembourg from February until the beginning of April. Talking about the project, producer Vincent Quénault told Cineuropa: “If you had the chance to shut off your flaws and weaknesses through brain surgery, would you do it? Laura Schroeder has led a real investigation for Maret to question ethic principles linked to the study of memory and the brain, problems that the scientific world and we as citizens of the current time have to deal with nowadays.”

Maret is being produced by Jeanne Geiben and Vincent Quénault for Luxembourg's Red Lion and Dorothe Beinemeier for Germany's Red Balloon, with additional backing provided by Film Fund Luxembourg and Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein. The feature is set for release in 2022.
