Written by the director (who played a part in the writing of Rithy Panh’s Rice People and One Evening After the War, and Maria de Medeiros’ April Captains, to name a few), the story revolves around a young woman who takes shelter in a cafe to escape a downpour, finding some forgotten maths exam papers and a troubling love letter…

Little Lesson of Love is produced by Nathalie Mesuret on behalf of Blue Monday Productions and will be co-produced by Swiss group P.S. Productions. Pre-purchased by Ciné+, the feature film will also enjoy the support of the Ile-de-France and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions, the SOFICA company Cofinova, RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse) and Cinéforom. The picture has also received development aid from the CNC, as well as a rewriting subsidy from the Lower Normandy region. The 30-day film shoot will unfold between 2 January and 14 February, in Paris and Lyon, with Lazare Pedron in charge of cinematography. French distribution will be managed by KMBO, while international sales will be led by Belgian outfit Be For Films.
