6 December will see the eighth edition of the MICI – International Meeting for Independent Cinema opening at Como’s Villa Olmo, an event organised by the AGICI (The Italian General Association of Independent Film-Audiovisual Industries) in association with the Noir in Festival. The Meeting will encompass three full days, ending 8 December, boasting three lines of activity (Conferences, a Market and a Workshop) and two main areas of focus: International Co-Productions and Genre Films.

"Lombardy: International opportunities in a frontier territory" and "Tax incentives for European audiovisual works" are the titles of the conferences on this year’s agenda. The market section, meanwhile, will include sessions such as "Co-Producing with Switzerland" - which will see the presentation of projects looking for Italian/Swiss co-production, in collaboration with the Ticino Film Commission - as well as the pitching session "Genre Cinema". There’ll be no shortage of selective, one-to-one meetings either, namely between authors and Pitch2Script producers.

The workshop, for its part, will focus on the new "Notice of selective financial contributions for co-produced cinematic works or those produced within a minority international partnership" and will be broken down into four modules: "An Explanation of the Notice of selective financial contributions for co-produced cinematic works or those produced as part of a minority international partnership", led by Alessio Morganti (Morganti & Partners); "Visual Effects and Sound Design: Constructing film budgets", led by Marzia dal Fabbro (Sound Art 23) and Giuseppe Squillaci (Galactus Studio); "Contracts relating to international co-productions or minority international partnerships: Constraints and Issues" led by Alessio Morganti (Morganti & Partners); "Case history: Nefertiti Film’s Nadia Trevisan and the film History of Love [+lee también:
