Arte France Cinéma’s (managed by Olivier Père) third selection committee of 2019 has decided to get involved in the co-production and pre-purchasing of four projects. Standing out among them is Petrov's Flu [+lee también:

(in competition in Cannes in 2018), The Student (also revealed on the Croisette, in the Un Certain Regard section in 2016), Izmena (in competition in Venice in 2012), Yurev den (in competition in Locarno in 2008), Playing the Victim (winner in Rome in 2006) and Ragin (East of the West at Karlovy Vary in 2005).

This time, the filmmaker will be adapting a novel by Alexeï Salnikov and the film will follow a day in the life of a comic book artist and his family, in post-Soviet Russia. Suffering from an intense bout of flu, Petrov is carried by his friend Igor into a long, drunken walk between dream and reality. Petrov’s childhood memories progressively resurface and merge with the present… Filming will take place in November and December, and the production is handled by French companies Logical Pictures and Charades Productions, Russian company Hype Film, German company Razor Film and Swiss company Bord Cadre.

), which will star Vincent Lindon and Agathe Rousselle. Written by the director, the script opens on an airport where custom inspectors pick up a young man with a bruised face. He claims his name to be Adrien Legrand, a child who disappeared ten years ago. For Vincent, his father, this marks the end of a long nightmare and he brings him home. Simultaneously, a series of gruesome murders places the region under pressure. Alexia, model in a car showroom, has all the characteristics of the ideal victim… Handled by Kazak Productions (France) with Frakas (Belgium), the film also benefits from the advance on earnings from the CNC and from the Ile-de-France region. It has already been pre-sold to Neon for North America, by Wild Bunch International. Filming will take place in April and May 2020.

, a "comedy" from Alain Guiraudie which will be shot in December, starring Noémie Lvovsky, Jean-Charles Clichet and Ilies Kadri. Written by the director together with Laurent Lunetta, the script begins in Clermont-Ferrand, on Christmas Eve. A terrorist attack plunges the city in a panic. In this tragic atmosphere, Médéric, a young man in his thirties, falls madly in love with Isadora, an older prostitute. But the collective paranoïa will soon threaten their new union… This will be the filmmaker’s 6th feature, after No Rest for The Brave [+lee también:

 from multi-award winner Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz. The script focuses on two friends who have robbed a bank. One of them has gone to prison, the other has used the money to take control of an island and become its mayor. Thirty years later, the prisoner is freed and sets off on a path to bloody revenge against his former accomplice… Filming is set to take place in December in the Philippines,  Le tournage est prévu en décembre aux Philippines, with production handled by Films Boutique (France), Epicmedia Productions (Philippines) and Snowglobe (Denmark).
