The story, written by Albert Dupontel, revolves around 43-year-old Suze Trappet, a hairdresser by profession. After she finds out that she is seriously ill, she decides to head off in search of a child she had no choice but to abandon at the age of 15. Her unlikely bureaucratic quest will lead her to cross paths with JB, a fifty-something suffering from burnout, and Mr Blin, an astonishingly enthusiastic blind archivist…

Produced by Catherine Bozorgan for ADCB Films (which is partnering up with the filmmaker for the fourth feature in a row), Bye Bye Morons is being co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and Gaumont. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature is also being backed by the Ile-de-France region (where the eight-week shoot will take place, with Alexis Kavyrchine serving as DoP), and has secured support for visual and sound creation from the CNC. The French distribution and international sales will be handled by Gaumont.
