The international sales division of the Pathé group is readying itself for a very busy Marché du Film at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival (running 14 - 25 May), with four films on its books which are set to premiere worldwide within the Official Selection of the competition. 

Shining especially bright amongst these titles is Mektoub My Love: Intermezzo [+lee también:

Written by the director himself (who has also produced via Quat’sous Films) alongside Ghalya Lacroix, the story of Mektoub My Love: Intermezzo kicks off just as the end of the summer holidays looms on the horizon for Amin (Shaïn Boumedine), who spends the warm summer evenings in the company of Charlotte (Alexia Chardard), the ex-girlfriend of his heartthrob cousin Tony (Salim Kechiouche). Nobody knows that they’re seeing one another, especially not Ophélie (Ophélie Bau), his childhood friend who tells him all of her problems: her father wants her to take over the family farm, her fiancé Clément will soon be returning home from Iraq for their wedding, and she is pregnant by Tony, who wants to keep their affair secret. Ophélie endlessly weighs up her options: Should she terminate the pregnancy in secret and go through with the wedding? Or should she follow her maternal instincts and keep the baby, maybe taking refuge in Paris with Amin? During this time, Tony introduces Amin to an American producer on holiday, who wants to produce Amin’s film and cast his wife, Jessica, in the lead role. This meeting is Amin’s chance to enter into the film industry - his biggest dream! Jessica, meanwhile, lives in a gilded cage, oppressed by a powerful husband who directs her daily life and controls her body by way of imposed diets. Like Ophélie, she too must choose: should she carry on with this life or spread her wings and fly away? Through his meetings with these women and in pursuing his dream of entering the film world, many choices will open up before Amin. It will fall to fate to decide the path that he will take…

The Pathé sales team, captained by Marie-Laure Montironi, will also be banking on a title selected for the Un Certain Regard section: the full-length French-Italian animation The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily [+lee también:
