(unveiled at Locarno in 2015, in Filmmakers of the Present, and winner of the Louis-Delluc Award for Best First Film the same year), Nicolas Pariser once again explores politics in this movie, but this time he tries out an approach that leans more towards comedy. The lead roles are played by Fabrice Luchini and Anaïs Demoustier. The former plays the mayor of Lyon, who is not in great shape, as he seems to be utterly clueless and feels totally drained after spending 30 years of his life in politics. To solve this problem, the authorities decide to hire a young and brilliant philosopher to come to his aid. They strike up a conversation, which brings them closer together and turns their certainties on their heads. Little by little, a question arises: are reflection and political practice compatible with one another? Produced by Bizibi, and co-produced by Arte France Cinéma and Belgium’s Scope Pictures, the feature will be distributed in French theatres by Bac itself on 2 October.

At the Marché du Film, Bac Films will be pre-selling the French-German animated film Yakari by Xavier Giacometti, currently in production and based on the series of comic books of the same name, which narrate the adventures of a young Sioux Native American. At the same time, it will be topping up sales for another animated title, Terra Willy by Éric Tosti, which have already got off to a flying start.

Also, standing out among the titles in post-production on its slate are the English-language film Remember Me [+lee también:
