The selection of the first 2018 session of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation Film Centre’s Film Selection Committee has granted €3.659 million to 18 feature films, eight short films, 18 creative documentaries and three experimental films, including the new projects by Solange Cicurel, Stephan Streker, Jan Bucquoy and Thierry Michel.

ficha de la película], the story of a couple of parents who opt to use Scandinavian alternative teaching methods, but who get out of their depth when their little angel turns into a teenager. It is being produced by Diana Elbaum and her new company, Beluga Tree, whose first shoot will be that of Ari Folman’s first live-action film, The Horse Boy, which will start principal photography in the autumn.

The committee also decided to throw its weight behind the new project by Stephan Streker, which we know very little about, save for its enigmatic title, …Et le héros s’évanouit (lit. “...And the Hero Vanished”). As was the case for A Wedding [+lee también:

ficha de la película], his new opus will be staged by Michaël Goldberg for Daylight Films and Boris Van Gils for Formosa Productions (France).

We should mention that other names chosen to receive production support include François Pirot (Mobile Home [+lee también:

ficha de la película]) for La Vie dans les bois (Tarantula), Miklos Keleti for Soma (WFE), which is his feature debut and a daring sci-fi title, and Jan Bucquoy for Liège Bastogne Liège. The latter director, the iconoclastic and provocative man behind The Sex Life of the Belgians, is thus making a return ten years after L’Art du Couple, and his new effort is being staged by Stenola Production.

Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth have received CCA-Flanders Audiovisual Fund production support for The Barefoot Emperor [+lee también:
