The Netherlands’ choice was Daan Schuurmans, a graduate of the Theatre Academy, who came to public attention after starring in Johan Nijenhuis’ Full Moon Party (2002).

"I've just finished two feature films, one of them was really a challenge, because I had to act in the difficult role of a father. He is a junkie and he wants to take care of his little daughter but he is not capable, he is not able to take care of her, because he has his addiction.
The other one was a real family thing. I was a knight in a clowns-movie. It is a knight who slept for five hundred years and it is a funny knight. I could do anything I liked, so it was very nice. So I made the tense feature film and the funny one. It was nice. In Holland we say, or I say: 'Dutch saying/speech'".
