Pascal Bonitzer, at the press conference of 53rd Berlin International Film Festival, his film Small Cuts, remembers Daniel Toscan du Plantier, the president of Unifrance and one of the most charismatic figures on the international film scene, who died after suffering a heart attack during the Festival in Berlin.
Pascal Bonitzer who expresses his gratitude to be in Berlin to present his film with the cast, remember the French producer, who he meet just one week before in Paris in occasion of an event on cultural diversity. In Paris he told him he had just written a review for his film. Most probably the last review he wrote.
He considered Toscan du Plantier, an ambassador of French Cinema in Europe, a person who had the capacity to present a certain idea of French and European cinema with an art in the presentation with no doubt difficult to replace.
