Golden sales for Match Factory in Berlin

The Peruvian/Spanish Sorrow, by Claudia Llosa, was picked up for Norway (Arthaus), Sweden (Folkets Bio), Poland (Mañana) and the former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom). Deals are pending with Germany, France, Italy and Denmark.

Adrián Biniez’s Gigante – winner of the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize (ex æquo), Best Debut Feature and the Alfred Bauer Award – has sold to 20 territories so far, including Germany (Neue Visionen), France (Océan), Spain (Golem), Greece (Seven One Films), Switzerland (Xenix), Denmark (Øst for Paradis), Norway (Fidalgo), the former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom), Portugal (Midas), Poland (Mañana) and the Netherlands (Filmmuseum).

The Match Factory’s other Official Selection title, The Dust of Time [+see also:

– directed by Theo Angelopoulos and starring Willem Dafoe – sold to Switzerland (Filmcoopi), Austria (Filmladen), the former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom), the Czech Republic (Aerofilms), Romania (Independenta) and Portugal (Atalanta). It will open in Greece this week, with France, Germany, Italy and Russia to follow.
