The 13th Revue of Youth Video and Film Making (September 4-8) in Karlovac included an international competition for the first time, under the name Four Rivers Film Festival, as Karlovac is the only city in the world where four rivers intersect. The national competition consisted of 33 works, while nine films from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Canada and Great Britain competed for the international awards.

The big winner was Studio of Creative Ideas from Gunja, which won the Grand Prix for Where Have You Been as the Best Film in both competitions and the Best Feature Film, as well as a special mention in the documentary category for A Boy From Outside in the national competition.

Best Croatian Animated Film went to Comfort of the Hair by the Film Association of the Dubrava Center Film and Video Group from Zagreb. The Journalists’ Association of the Christian Classic High School from Osijek won Best Documentary for The Black and White World. The Best Film in the open category was Those Who Weren’t There by Kino Klub Split.

The national jury consisted of Vedran Samanovic, Bosko Picula and Vjekoslav Zivkovic, who also participated in the international jury along with Slavko Stimac and Petar Krelja. The Best Animated Film award went to Enter by SAF from Vranje, Serbia; Slovenian Luksuz Production from Krsko won Best Documentary for We Are All from the Bronx and Best Feature for Impossible to Sleep.

Sulted and Booted Studios from Bristol, UK, won special mention for Kill the Slob, which received the Audience Award as well. The production company also won the Best Film in the open category for The Invaders. Another special mention went to Half Way There by Intersection Production from Vancouver, Canada.
