Mundruczó, Clay and Ostlund in Coproduction Office line-up

With a slate that includes a Hungarian, a UK and a Swedish director, Franco-German international sales company The Coproduction Office will fly the European flag as it showcases three young talents at the Film Market of the Cannes Film Festival (May 14-25).

The line-up also includes three features selected in the Un Certain Regard section. Following The Great Ecstasy of Robert Carmichael – his sensational debut film which screened in the Critics’ Week at Cannes 2005 – UK director Thomas Clay (see interview) will this year present Soi Cowboy, starring Danish actor Nicolas Bro (Offscreen [+see also:

Scandinavian film will also put in an appearance with Involontary, the second feature by Swedish director Ruben Ostlund.

The international sales company will also present a non-European title in the Un Certain Regard section: Antonio Campos’ US/Brazilian film Afterschool.

The Coproduction Office – who have always taken on challenging auteur films, selling titles by Carlos Reygadas, Ulrich Seidl, Roy Andersson, Dagur Kari, Corneliu Porumboiu and Cristi Puiu in recent years – will also present Austrian director Jessica Hausner’s forthcoming feature (see news), which is currently in production.
