An oversize weekend
Fourteen titles are coming out this weekend, five of which are Italian. Veteran director Citto Maselli (whose first film dates back to 1949) is back with Civico 0 (out on five screens in Rome and Turin by Istituto Luce, see article), as well as Pasquale Scimeca, whose Little Boy Red is based on the Giovanni Verga novella (and distributed by Arbash Film).
Claudio Fragasso has also returned, with the sequel to Palermo-Milan One Way, entitled Milan-Palermo The Return (Walt Disney, 243 screens), starring Giancarlo Giannini and Raoul Bova (see news). Universal is releasing on 200 screens Lezioni di cioccolato [+see also:

Giorgio Grasso, on the other hand, is taking the ticket pre-sales route for his independent film Replay, which will begin screening today at the Politecnico Fandango cinema in Rome (see: www.fantaproduction.com/replay.html).
Two horror titles out this week are 1408 (Lucky Red, 250 screens) by Swedish director Mikael Håfström, based on a Stephen King story and starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson in a small role, and David L. Cunningham’s The Seeker: The Dark is Rising (Fox), while Sony is released 81 prints of Julie Taymor’s extraordinary musical tribute to the Beatles, Across the Universe, screened in October at the RomeFilmFest.
Germany’s Dani Levy (the director of the entertaining Go for Zucker! [+see also:

film profile]) is back with Nazi parody Mein Führer: The Truly Truest Truth About Adolf Hitler [+see also:

film profile] , which topped domestic box office charts at the beginning of the year and is being released in Italy by Warner for Cde Videa on 60 screens. Also out are Nick Hurran’s comedy It’s a Boy Girl Thing (Eagle, 50 screens) and Factory Girl (Moviemax, 40 screens), the biopic on Edie Sedgwick, one of the greatest icons of US pop culture.
Lastly, Medusa Film is releasing the French/Greek/UK/Italian/Israeli co-production O Jerusalem [+see also:
