From November 1-7, Tübingen and Stuttgart are hosting the 24th International Francophone Film Festival, which will present almost 80 films from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Africa.

In Tübingen, the festival will open with the French comedy drama Le Fils de l'épicier [+see also:

The festival will also hold a retrospective on French actor and director Jacques Nolot, as well as offer sections devoted to Africa, film shorts, the Holocaust in French cinema, horror films and the avant-garde.

The event, which has always boasted a distinguished guest list, will carry on that tradition this year – most of the above-mentioned directors will be present and other filmmakers are expected to attend.
