by

French international sales companies have been confirming their interest for productions from neighbouring countries, with TF1 International adding Miracle at St. Anna by US director Spike Lee to its line-up.

The €33m feature – produced by Roberto Cicutto and Luigi Musini for Italy’s On My Own and co-produced by the director and Rai Cinema – went into production on Monday. Its 11-week shoot will take place in Tuscany, the Cinecittà studios, and the US. The film is a loose adaptation of a book written by James McBride about four black American soldiers trapped in a Tuscan village in 1944, who fight the Germans with the help of Italian resistants.
