The UK’s only crime and literature festival TCM Crime Scene will roll out across London cinemas from September 6-9. The highlight is the closing night event where director Quentin Tarantino will participate in a Q&A along with stuntwoman co-star Zoe Bell following a screening of Death Proof.

The event will be beamed live to 13 cinemas across the UK. The festival, which opens with the British premiere of scriptwriter Scott Frank’s directorial debut The Lookout, will also preview Claude Chabrol’s A Comedy Of Power [+see also:

In keeping with the crime and literature theme, the festival will also feature personal appearances by noted crime writers Ruth Rendell, Mark Billingham and Lynda La Plante amongst others besides featuring Q&As with Alan Parker, Nick Love and Matthew Goode.

Festival director and Film London CEO Adrian Wooton said, “I am very pleased and proud that we are able to present such a diverse mixture of different aspects of the Crime genre, covering important retrospective material through a whole host of personal appearances from major writers through to cutting edge contemporary films and filmmakers presenting their new work in London.”

Following his London junket, Tarantino will accompany the film to Dublin for its Irish premiere on September 14, which is organised by the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.

Festival director Grainne Humphreys said, “Our festival celebrates cinema from around the world and with his latest film, Tarantino has produced a bloody valentine to the B movies of his youth, a dizzying spectacular packed full of cinematic references. Death Proof and a Q& A with its director is the one event no true film fan can miss.”
