The promotion of the film has only added to audiences’ impatience to see Marianne Faithfull’s audacious performance as Maggie, a woman in her fifties who accepts a dodgy job in the sex trade in order to pay for her son’s life-saving operation.
The film is a quintessentially European co-production between Belgium, Germany, the UK, Luxembourg and France and is being released in Germany through X Verleih.
While it didn’t charm Berlin audiences as much as Irina Palm, Thomas Arslan’s Panorama title Vacation [+see also:

film profile] (see article) should nevertheless attract its share of filmgoers. The ensemble German film, featuring Angela Winkler, Wiegand Witting, Karoline Eichhorn and Uwe Bohm, focuses on the complex and discrete network of family interactions. Its release will be handled by Peripher.
The six other titles released in Germany this week include the not-so-recent film by Marco Bellocchio on the assassination of Aldo Moro, Good Morning, Night [+see also:

Meanwhile, Kinowelt is handling the release of well-known Austrian actor-director Elisabeth Wicki-Endriss’ Verstörung - und eine Art von Poesie. Die Filmlegende Bernhard Wicki (“Destruction – and a Type of Poetry. The Film Legend Bernhard Wicki”).
Lastly, Universal’s release of British crime drama Hot Fuzz by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) is expected to attract young audiences.
