Spanish distribution companies Notro Films and Tripictures (through its branch Naiff) have reached an agreement with Cadena Impact to launch a system of legal film downloads via the Internet. The website will be called FilmStar and the three partners have created a new company, Ociovisión, in order to commercialise it.

FilmStar will offer video clubs the possibility to associate with the upcoming platform, so that their clients might also benefit from the services. The legal download will be either temporary (rentals) or definitive (sales) and the catalogue of available films is expected to expand in the upcoming months, when deals with several distributors come to fruition.

FilmStar is joining other two similar ventures currently being developed in the Spanish market: Pixbox, founded by Telefónic and Universal; and Media X-press Digital, created by Techfoundries.
