Nine films heading to Rio de Janeiro

Nine European productions or co-productions have been selected to be promoted at the upcoming Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival (September 21-October 5), as part of the Film Sales Support (FSS) program of European Film Promotion.

The nine titles will be represented by six European film agents or production outfits and the grants they will be given go towards producing promotional material and activities undertaken by the sales agent, as well as generate networking between local buyers and the films’ representatives.

FSS was founded in 2004 with the support of the MEDIA Programme in order to boost the presence of European films outside Europe. After Rio de Janeiro, Pusan (in South Korea) will host other contingents of European films from October 12-20.
