Adult director back at work

Aleksi Salmenperä, the director behind the acclaimed 2004 film Producing Adults, has just started shooting his second feature film, Man’s Job (Miehen työ) for producers Petri Jokiranta and Tero Kaukomaa of Blind Spot Pictures.

Scripted by Salmenperä, the film tells the story of a young husband and father who becomes a male escort to support his family without telling them, and stars Tommi Korpela (For the Living and the Dead), Jani Volanen (Matti-Hell is For Heroes and Maria Heiskanen (Lights in the Dusk [+see also:

). The Finnish domestic release by Sandrew Metronome is set for spring 2007.

The 33 year-old Finnish director of Man’s Job graduated from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki in 2003 and directed several shorts and TV series before making his directorial feature debut. Producing Adults was Finland’s Oscar nominee in 2004 and was sold to 15 territories by Paris-based Celluloid Dreams. Blind Spot Pictures, who produced both Salmenperä films, are also involved in a major European co-production: Jade Warrior [+see also:
