The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 from an idea by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in response to the World Trade Center attacks. In just five years, it has become New York’s most important film event. 169 features and 99 have been selected from over 4,100 titles, triple the amount submitted for the festival’s first edition. There will be 90 world premieres from 40 countries.
