(Romanzo criminale) by Michele Placido was the big winner at the 2006 Nastri d’Argento Awards, winning five of its ten nominations. Italian journalists awarded it Best Director (Michele Placido), a first-time ever collective Best Actor (to Kim Rossi Stuart, Pierfrancesco Favino and Claudio Santamaria, all three of whom had been nominated as one entry), Best Editor (Esmeralda Calabria), Best Sound (Mario Iaquone) and Best Film. The film’s producers, Riccardo Tozzi, Giovanni Stabilini and Marco Chimenz of Cattleya (along with Warner) were also voted Best Producers of the year, chosen for Crime Novel as well their two other 2005 films (produced together with RAI Cinema): Don’t Tell [+see also:

(La tigre e la neve): Roberto Benigni and Vincenzo Cerami won for Best Original Story, Nicola Piovani was given a Special Nastro for the music and Fabio Cianchetti picked up Best Cinematography, for both this film and Don’t Tell.

The latter film also walked away with Best Supporting Actress (Angela Finocchiaro), while Pupi Avati’s La seconda notte di nozze [+see also:
