"Rendez-vous" for French cinema

360 buyers from 45 countries and 110 foreign journalists responded to the call of the 8th edition of the French Cinema Rendez-vous which began this morning in Paris. Organised by Unifrance, the event allows French companies to present 75 new French films, while directors and actors give press interviews on a hundred or so features released in Europe and in Latin America scheduled for the first semester of 2006. Among the artists present are notably Isabelle Huppert, Charlotte Rampling, Juliette Binoche, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Isabelle Carré, Emmanuelle Devos, Cécile de France, Sara Forestier, Valerie Lemercier, Ludivine Sagnier, Jérémie Rénier, André Téchiné, Alain Corneau, Jacques Audiard, Francois Ozon, Guillaume Canet, Patrice Chéreau, Dominik Moll, Costa Gavras, Patrice Leconte, Clovis Cornillac, Gérard Jugnot, Vincent Cassel, Robert Guédiguian, Bertrand Tavernier, Michel Ocelot and Benoît Magimel.
