Amiens honours La couleur des mots

La couleur des mots (The colour of words) by Philippe Blasband, received the Best Actress award at the 25th Amiens Film Festival Film for Aylin Yay, as well as the Signis prize. Produced by Olivier Rausin for Climax Films, this second feature will be released in Belgian cinemas from March 2006, distributed by its producer.

Though La Couleur des mots is a work of fiction, as the director points out in his notes, it was inspired by a harsh reality for Philippe Blasband and Aylin Yay, a couple and parents of a little boy suffering from dysphasia. Through the character of Marie, a young dysphasiac woman, the film explores the gap that gradually installs itself between this character and the world around her, with a handicap which leaves her evasive and inaccessible. Screened at Montréal, Namur and Valladolid, the film has already received eulogies from the critics in the press.

With an editing diploma from INSAS, Philippe Blasband is a prolific letter writer, novelist ("De cendres et de fumée", "l'Effet cathédrale", "Max et Minnie") dramatist ("Jef", "Pitch", etc.), and recently, screenwriter (La Femme de Gilles [+see also:
