FUNDING Northern Ireland

New low budget Feature film fund

by

The Northern Ireland Film & Television Commission(NIFTC) intends to fund one live action low budget feature film with a budget of up to £200,000 each year. The NIFTC will cover up to 75% of the production budget or £150,000. The project will have to be entirely set and shot in Northern Ireland, with a very strong local cultural resonance offering important development opportunities to key Northern Ireland talent.

The NIFTC says that Digital format is the most appropriate to this budget level. Projects will also need sales agents or distributors already attached. The deadline for applications is 29 April 2005.
Set up in 1997 to accelerate the development of a dynamic and sustainable film and television industry in Northern Ireland, the NIFTC is funded by the Department of Culture, Arts and leisure, Invest Northern Ireland, the UK Film Council and is delegated by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to administer Lottery funding for film in Northern Ireland.
