Written by the director and Karine Silla-Perez, the story transports us to Paris in 1887. French society is undergoing rapid change and duels are a common occurrence when it comes to upholding one’s honour. Clément Lacaze, a charismatic fencing master, and Marie-Rose Astié de Valsayre, a feminist ahead of her time, decide to join forces to fight side by side in spite of the risks and the dangers they face…

Edge of the Blade is produced by Sidonie Dumas on behalf of Gaumont, in co-production with France 2 Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+ and France Télévisions, the feature film is also supported by the Ile-de-France region who are hosting the 39-day film shoot (with recording notably taking place at Epinay Film Studios, in the Château de Maintenon and the Château de Balincourt, in Saint-Cloud Park, in the Fort de Cormeilles-en-Paris and in the Gobelins Manufactory). Distribution in France and international sales are both set to be steered by Gaumont.
