) and tells the story of two mature women meeting on the banks of the Douro River. "It is a film noir with three deaths, two robberies and a getaway", say the production companies, and will reveal how Vera (played by Lola Dueñas) as a young woman was unable to take care of her son and gave him up for adoption, while at the same time Cora (Ana Torrent) receives the news of her biological inability to be a mother, where her only option for a family means resorting to adoption. So, they are both mothers to Egoz (Manuel Egozkue) and they meet again in Portugal to reassess their lives and rewrite their destinies, as the title of the film indicates.

Víctor Iriarte (Bilbao, 1976) has always been involved in film: he is a selector for the San Sebastián International Film Festival, a member of the academic board at the Elías Querejeta school and the audio-visual programme director at the Tabakalera Centre of Contemporary Culture, all in San Sebastian. He also completed a master’s degree in creative documentary at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, worked as an assistant to Isaki Lacuesta in 2001 on Lacuesta’s debut Cravan vs. Cravan, and then worked as director of photography on Buenas noches, España, by the Filipino Raya Martin, which was presented at the 2011 Locarno Film Festival. In 2007 he directed the short film Decir adiós and in 2019 he published the novel Geometría, with a prologue by Lacuesta himself.

Sobre todo de noche is a production from the Spanish companies La Termita Films, Atekaleun (Tamara García) and CSC Films (Katixa de Silva), in co-production with Portugal (Ukbar Filmes, Pablo Iraola) and France (4A4 Productions, Andrea Queralt) supported by ICAA – Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Basque Government and the Guipúzcoa Provincial Council. Also involved are TVE and Televisió de Catalunya. This project also received the Micro Climat Studios award (for post-production in Paris, with a value of €15,000) at FID Lab Marseille, and €232,000 from the Eurimages Fund for auteur co-productions. Atalante will manage its distribution in Spain.
