, the debut feature by Victoria Fiore, had its international premiere in the Dox:Award competition of CPH:DOX (23 March-3 April) after being world-premiered in last year’s BFI London Film Festival and it is now being showcased at Visions du Réel’s VdR-Film Market (7-17 April).

In detail, the documentary follows Entoni, a rambunctious 10-year-old boy living every day as if it were his last. Watching over him is his grandmother Dora, a former criminal who fears he is falling into the pattern she started and which Entoni’s imprisoned father has continued. Shot over the course of four years, Hide and Seek tackles the brutality and chaos of these lives through a beautifully cinematic lens, blurring the line between truth and fiction.
