European cinema is mourning the death of Lithuanian filmmaker Mantas Kvedaravicius, who was killed last Saturday, 2 April, in Mariupol, Ukraine, where he had gone to document the war and was trying to leave the city besieged by Russian forces.

Born in 1976, Mantas Kvedaravicius had to his credit the documentaries Barzakh and Mariupolis [+see also:
