has emerged as the winner of the 58th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, snagging three awards in the National Feature Film Competition, including Best Film. At the leading Turkish gathering, which unspooled from 2-9 October, Spanish director Clara Roquet was also crowned with the Best Film Award in the International Feature Film Competition for Libertad [+see also:

Brother’s Keeper also received the Best Screenplay Award for Ferit Karahan and Gülistan Acet, plus the Best Editing Award for Sercan Sezgin, Ferit Karahan and Hayedeh Safiyari. The head of the jury, Emin Alper, explained that they picked the film “for its powerful and convincing critique of a system where children are stringently homogenised, for telling its story in a profoundly lucid and eloquent way without resorting to melodrama, and for its superb acting performances”.

received the Special Jury Award along with the Cahide Sonku Award, which aims to raise the profile and visibility of women working in the Turkish film industry – this went to Ezgi Baltaş, the casting director of the film, and the assistant producer, Feride Çiçekoğlu. Also, Nezaket Erden and Erdem Şenocak received the Best Supporting Actress and Actor Awards, respectively. The First Film Award went to Anatolian Leopard [+see also:

by Emre Kayiş, while the picture also won the Best Art Director Award for Billur Turan.

The Best Director Award was bestowed upon Tayfun Pirselimoğlu for his latest film, Kerr, and the movie also received the Best Music Award for Nikos Kypourgos. Finally, the Best Actress Award went to Nihal Yalçın for her performance in Zuhal, and the Best Actor gong ended up going to Tarhan Karagöz for his role in The Cage. Özay Fecht picked up the Best Supporting Actress Award (splitting it with the aforementioned Nezaket Erden) for the same film.

In the International Feature Film Competition, Costa Rican helmer Paz Fábrega scooped the Best Director Award for Aurora, while Claudia Grob received the Best Actress Award for her turn in The Fam [+see also:
