Mission to Mars by Amat Vallmajor del Pozo, which will be taking part in WIP Europa

Six productions – hailing from Spain, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine – make up the selection of this year’s WIP Europa, an initiative run by the San Sebastián Film Festival and aimed at majority European productions at the post-production stage. The activities are set to unspool from 20-22 September, as part of the 69th edition of this distinguished film gathering.

All of these works will be presented in front of an audience of industry professionals and will be duking it out for the WIP Europa Industry Award and the WIP Europa Award. The dates of this industry sidebar of the festival will coincide with those of WIP Latam and the tenth Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum. The movies will be available in the festival’s video library (which is run by CinandoVL) following their screening in the theatre, and will be viewable until Saturday 25 September 2021.

In addition, five projects hailing from Denmark, Spain and France will be competing in the third edition of the Zinemaldia Startup Challenge, the competition intended for teams of entrepreneurs and recently founded European startups, which are proposing new business projects based on the inclusion of new technologies in the audiovisual domain (for more details on these initiatives, please click here).
