A world of thick irony and suspense, with a clumsy and poorly organised underworld, some would-be detectives and successful creators of trashy television. Such is the setting for the adventures of Carlo Monterossi, the main character in the new series created by Roan Johnson called Monterossi, based on the best-selling novels of Alessandro Robecchi (Sellerio). Filming is underway and taking place in Milan and Rome for a total of 13 weeks.

After the success I Delitti del BarLume, the series adapted from the novels of Marco Malvaldi which reached its eighth season and thus became the longest-running series on the air on Sky Italia, Roan Johnson returns to direct a new series, which he has co-written with Davide Lantieri and Alessandro Robecchi. , selected in competition at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.

In the first two stories, Carlo Monterossi finds himself confronted with a couple of educated and professional killers, two gypsies seeking revenge, a young hound with a broken heart, collectors and smugglers of Nazi-Fascist souvenirs, a few corpses too many and incredible cases of mistaken identity, a "dead" who returns from the dead to retrieve a treasure, a woman who seems to have had several lifetimes and a mysterious and cruel past that returns and leaves indecipherable clues on the trail.

The series is produced by Palomar and will debut on Amazon Prime Video in 2022.
