Targeting Youngsters

A programme packed with European films is being put on by the De Keizer cinema in Deventer for Cinedays 2003. The special events are targeted at young audiences, and especially the groups of young people who are gathering in the city from around Europe for the traditional annual film festival.

The first part of the event takes place from October 12 to 18 and will feature 5 films suggested by the youngsters themselves: An Angel for May by Harley Cokeliss (Britain, 2002), Zulaika by Diederik van Rooijen (Curaçao, 2003), Someone like Hodder by Henrik Ruben Genz (Denmark, 2002), The Living Forest by Angel de la Cruz and Manolo Gómez (Spain, 2001) and Wallah Be by Aksel de Pia Bovin (Denmark, 2002).
The second part of the programme will continue until October 29 and includes 6 more recently produced European films: Piedras by Ramón Salazar, The Sea by Baltasar Kormákur, The Adversary by Nicole Garcia, Swimming Pool by François Ozon, Russian Ark by Aleksandr Sokurov and Bloody Sunday by Paul Greengrass. The final part of this ample programme there’s a tribute to the French filmmaker Jacques Tati with the screening of Playtime, The Big Day and Mr. Hulot Holidays.
