Despite the cancellation of its 35th edition on account of the health crisis, the Belfort Entrevues Film Festival, whose team had already decided to announce the winners of its international competition (read our news), has also opted to continue with its [Films en cours] post-production grant so as to "support filmmakers as best it can during this very uncertain period for the sector". Dedicated to first, second and third feature films which are intended for cinema distribution and have completed the image editing process, the winner of the 2020 [Films en cours] award was decided upon by a jury who singled out the French production I Comete - A Corsican Summer [+see also:

Written by the actor-turned-director, the story unfurls in Corsica during the summer holidays, where town-dwellers come up against countryfolk who have never left their villages. Children amuse themselves, teenagers hang out, adults think about the future and the elderly ruminate on the passing of time. Together, families and lifelong friends share this suspended moment in time in the mountains. But for all its sunshine and roars of laughter, there are only so many wounds that the summer can heal…

Produced by Martin Bertier and Helen Olive for 5 à 7 Films and co-produced by Delphine Leoni on behalf of Lotta Films, I Comete will be distributed in French cinemas by KMBO and is sold worldwide by Best Friend Forever.
