There will be more than 60 films shown as part of the Cinedays 2003 initiative undertaken by the Amsterdam Film Museum. There’s a trip to the world of French surrealism by the French director Jacques Tati shown through his films, a few exhibitions and documentaries about his work. Film buffs of all ages have the chance to see great classics like School for Postmen (1946) The Big Day (1949), Mr Hulot’s Holiday (1953), My Uncle (1958) and Traffic (1971).

The Museum will also be presenting an in-depth look at the work of other European artists, with screenings of 8 Polish films by Wojciech Jerzy Has: The Noose ("Petla", 1958), Farewells ("Pozegnania", 1958), How to be loved ("Jak byc kochana", 1962), The Code ("Szyfry", 1966), The Doll ("Kalka", 1968), An Uneventful story ("Nieciekawa historia", 1982), Write and Fight ("Pismak", 1984), Memoirs of a Sinner ("Osobisty pamietnik grzesnika", 1985), and The tribulations of Balthazar Kobera ("Niezwykla odroz Baltazara Kobera", 1988).
There will also be a showcase of a few lesser known works, like Zoo by Bert Haanstra, Lotta loopt weg by Johanna Hald and Moutarde van Sonansee by Toon Hermans.
