The fifth edition of the ANIMARKT Stop Motion Forum, which took place online from 6-10 October, has wrapped with the Lebanese-German project The Day Vladimir Died winning four awards. Directed by Fadi Siryani and produced by Roland Fischer, the project received a voucher worth €9,000 for use of the studio and film production facilities of the Audiovisual Technology Center (CeTA) in Wrocław, a purchase for broadcast by the Polish TV channel ALE KINO+, the Distribution Award from Brussels-based Radiator IP Sales, and expert consultation with acclaimed puppet and prop maker Marcin Zalewski. The Day Vladimir Died tells the story of a citizen of Beirut, a regular at funerals, who is looking for his own obituary.

The Dragonframe 4 Software Award went to Carcassone-Acapulco by French directors Marjorie Caup and Olivier Heraud, a production by 12//24 FILMS.

The Argentinian project Fia, co-directed by Luciana Martinez and Iván Stur, and produced by María Rosario Carlino, received the Industry Accreditation for MIFA 2021, while the CEE Animation Forum Accreditation was given out to Labra Cadabra, Kaipeda Jazz by Lithuanian directors Olga Ti and Julia Titowa, and producer Valentas Aškinis.

The two-week residency at the Quirino Cristiani Animation Center in Córdoba, funded by APALAB, went to Brazilian filmmaker Gabriel Nunes do Carmo for Skin, co-produced by Brazil's Matias Boeing Eastman and the UK's A K McCallum.

A Special Distinction in the form of an accreditation for next year's ANIMARKT was granted to the Czech project Electra. A Poem by director Daria Kashcheeva, and producers Martin Vandas and Zuzana Krivkova.

Finally, ALE KINO+ also picked up the rights to screen the Polish-Korean co-production Sweater (working title) by director and producer Kinga Górak.
