21/08/2020 - Srdjan Keča's Museum of the Revolution, Alexa Bakony's Colours of Tobi and Ketevani Kapanadze's Champions have received awards at Sarajevo's documentary industry event

The tenth edition of Docu Rough Cut Boutique, Sarajevo Film Festival and Balkan Documentary Centre's platform for projects in advanced stages of editing, which took place online this year, announced its prizes on Thursday (20 August).

The Avanpost Media Award, which provides the winner with post-production services from the Bucharest-based company, went to Museum of the Revolution [+see also:

Combining the political, historical and personal, it tells the story of a utopian project, a museum that socialist Yugoslavia started building in Belgrade 50 years ago and never finished it, and a little girl and an old lady living in its labyrinthine basement. Edited by Hrvoslava Brkušić and co-produced by Serbia's Uzrok, Croatia's Restart and Czech Republic's Nutprodukce, it has been one of the most anticipated documentary projects from Eastern Europe in the last two years.

Two awards, each worth €2,000, from CAT&Docs and HBO Europe, went to Hungarian filmmaker Alexa Bakony's first feature-length documentary Colors of Tobi [+see also:

Set in a tiny village, it follows the transgender teenager Eva/Tobi who struggles with his identity and growing up at the same time, and his mother who has mixed feelings while trying to be supportive of her child. Edited by Marianna Rudas, the Filmfabriq production took part in IDFA Forum last year and is supported by the Sundance Institute and the Hungarian National Film Fund.

Colours by Georgian first-timer Ketevani Kapanadze also won two awards, which will take the project to industry sections of both IDFA and DOK Leipzig. Edited by Eka Tsotsoria, it is an intimate portrait of four girls in their 20s, members of the marginalized queer community in the post-industrial city of Kutaisi for whom the local female football club has become the shelter. The project is the first film of Tbilisi-based production company Microcosmoss, set up last year by filmmaker Salomé Jashi, whose The Dazzling Light of Sunset [+see also:
