At its 158th meeting held online due to the current health crisis, the Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to support 19 fiction films, 2 animation films and 7 documentary projects for a total amount of €6,138,000. The share of eligible projects with female directors examined at this Eurimages Board of Management meeting was 34%; 37.5% of the projects supported were directed by women and € 2,078,000 was awarded to these projects, representing 34% of the total amount awarded.

The Board of Management of the fund confirmed, as decided in October 2019, the current suspension of the Distribution Support Programme, which did not accept new pre-selection applications in 2020. An independent study will shortly be launched to consider options for a new form of distribution support.

Lastly, they further decided to launch a call for proposals for the selection of co-production markets to present the Eurimages Co-production Development Award for a three-year period as from 2021. Applications must reach the Eurimages office by 15 June 2020 at the latest (read more here).
