. The film tells the story of Clint, a broken man who lives alone in the heart of a frozen tundra. But despite his isolation, he can neither escape from the world nor find peace. One evening, he embarks upon a journey, travelling through his dreams, memories and imagination, trying to make his way through the darkness and into the light.

Starring in the cast alongside Dafoe are Cristina Chiriac and the director’s real-life daughter Anna Ferrara - who also appeared in Tommaso - as well as Dounia Sichov, Simon McBurney, Valentina Rozumenko, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Phil Neilson, Fabio Pagano, Laurentio Arnatsiaq and Ulrike Willenbacher. Cinematography is by Stefano Falivene, editing is in the hands of Fabio Nunziata, flanked by Leonardo D. Bianchi, set design comes courtesy of Renate Schmaderer and costumes are by Brenda Gomez, while Joe Delia is putting his name to Ferrara’s music once again.

Written by the American director in league with Chris Zois, the film sees Abel Ferrara returning to the competition of the Berlin International Film Festival 25 years after The Addiction’s selection. Produced by Vivo Film, Maze Pictures and Piano, alongside Rai Cinema, Faliro House and Rimsky Productions, Siberia enjoys the support of the Lazio Region and IDM Südtirol – Alto Adige Film Fund & Commission. The Match Factory are handling international sales.
