Are You Series? will also be shining a light on series produced in the North, by way of a focus on Scandinavian works. These titles include a comedy set in the world of high finance (The Oil Fund), a spy thriller in the midst of the Cold War (Shadow Lines), an investigation unfolding amidst icy Norwegian temperatures and involving the FBI, serial-killers and unresolved crimes (Wisting), and a dramedy about a pair of high-flying ex-crooks who return to their old ways in order to lift their family out of the suburban humdrum that now consumes them (Pros & Cons)...

Talent hailing from France will also be hurled centre stage, with the festival all set to screen a preview of Savages. Recently broadcast on Canal+ to successful effect, the series is based upon the book by Sabri Louatah. It was adapted and directed by Rebecca Zlotowski (Belle épine [+see also:

We should also mention the new queen of English film and star of the Emmy Awards Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who will be the focus of a binge-watching session, during which both seasons of the cult series Fleabag will be streamed.

On the professional side, meanwhile, Are You Series? is once again organising pitching sessions for emerging creators, not to mention a whole new event: Serial Dating – The Big Get-Together for TV Series Creatives.
