Filming starts on Narco
Today has been the first day of filming on Narco, the first feature length film by the couple Tristan & Gilles and the second film for Alain Attal's company, Les Productions du Trésor, which started in production last December 2002 with the film Mon Idole. The cast for Narco includes Guillaume Canet, Gad Elmaleh and Zabou Breitman.
Alain Attal is the co-screenwriter of the film together with Philippe
Levebre,
and the budget is ?7.5m, put together with the collaboration of
StudioCanal. The production
was
made easier on the back of the success of Mon idole which had an
audience of more than half a million and was sold in around 15
countries
(including Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia and
the Czech Republic).
Once again Attal is working alongside Guillaume Canet, the director and
actor from Mon idole. Narco is the story of a man who
suffers
from narcolepsy, who dreams of a world of super-heroes when he falls
asleep.
Alongside the main character is the actor Gad Elmaleh, fresh from the
triumph
of Chouchou, while the
direction of the film is being done by the famous pair from the world
of
music videos and short films, Tristan Aurouet and Gilles Lellouch.
Shooting
will take place over the next 12 weeks in Paris and the surrounding
areas.
