The Kosovo Cinematography Center supports 29 film projects

The Kosovo Cinematography Center (KCC) has announced the recipients of its 2019 annual round of funding pre-approvals. Divided into various different programmes, a total of 29 projects have received KCC support with a budget totalling €1.3 million.

More precisely, six feature films, including the sophomore efforts by Dren Zherka (Echo) and Fisnik Maxhuni (Zvicra [+see also:

), along with the newest movie by Albanian director Bujar Alimani (The Delegation [+see also:

), the MIDPOINT-developed debut film by Montenegrin helmer Senad Šahmanović, and two Macedonian projects by Vardan Tozija (Amok) and former LIM participant Dina Duma, are among the recipients.

In the Feature Films programme, the selected projects are Colors by Burbuqe Berisha, written by Xheraldina Vula (producer: Agron Vula); Hotline by Dren Zherka (Bujar Kabashi); I Love You More by Erblin Nushi (Lulzim Guhelli); The Land Within Me by Fisnik Maxhuni (Valon Bajgora); and two debut features: Okarina [+see also:

by Alban Zogjani, written by Alban Muja (Shpend Zogjani); and Song of Flowers by Baris Karamuco, written by Roland Spahiu (Tahar Alemndar).

The minority co-production projects are The Albanian Virgin [+see also:

by Dina Duma (Liridon Cahani), which round off the selection of fiction features. Furthermore, six projects and two fiction shorts have received script-development support.

In the Documentary programme, the four feature-length projects that have received support are Children of the Lower Paradise by Brigitte Staemose (Visar Arifaj), Go Go Kosovo by Jane Stockdale (Ilinka Ilioska), Homeland by Kreshnik Jonuzi (Ardian Sharku) and Kosovo Refugees in Montenegro 1999 by Velibor Čović (Festim Bajgora). Three documentary shorts will also receive KCC support.

Finally, three feature-length projects that are currently in post-production, The Last Discovery by Burim Haliti (Xhelal Haliti), Shirtless Man by Luan Kryeziu (Agron Kryeziu) and Sword of the Wood by Emre Onuk, with a screenplay by Selman Kilicaslan (Agon Uka), top off the funding slate.
