The story, written by the director himself (who is also taking care of the film’s cinematography, editing and score), revolves around Jean-Gab and Manu, two simple-minded friends who find a giant fly that is still alive and stuck in a car boot. And so they decide to tame it and train it in order to earn a bit of cash with it…

Produced by Hugo Sélignac and Vincent Mazel for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, Mandibles is being co-produced by Memento Films Productions, C8 Films and Belgium’s Artémis Productions. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and OCS, the feature, which will be shot for six-and-a-half weeks in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, is also being backed by the Indéfilms, Cofinova, Sofitvciné, Cinémage and Cinéaxe Soficas. Memento will handle the French distribution, whereas the international sales will be entrusted to WTFilms and Wild Bunch.
