Prize for Jan Decleir

The Belgium actor Jan Decleir will be given the Gouden Kalf Culture Prize 2003 during the opening ceremony of the Utrecht Film Festival in Holland (September 24 – October 3). The prize was set up in 1981 and it is awarded to people in the film sector who have contributed to the success of the Dutch cinematographic industry.

Jan Decleir, who was born in 1946, has starred in two Oscar winning Dutch films: Karakter by Mike van Diem (1997) and Antonia by Marleen Gorris (1995). The actor currently works both in Belgium and Holland and he has a very respectable list of films to his name.
