, revolves around 17-year-old Ola, who has to go to Ireland to bring back the body of her father, after he died on a construction site. But Ola also has another objective in mind – she plans to retrieve the money that her dad had promised her so that she could buy a car. While dealing with the local bureaucracy in Ireland, the young woman comes to realise that she is in fact more interested in getting to know who her father really was than anything else.

The shoot started in February and will wrap in April. The filming locations are Warsaw and Olsztyn in Poland, and Dublin in Ireland. The cast includes first-timer Zofia Stafiej as Ola, veteran Polish actors Arkadiusz Jakubik (Clergy [+see also:

I Never Cry is being produced by Jan Kwieciński (Panic Attack [+see also:

), of Warsaw-based Akson Studio, and co-produced by Julie Ryan, of Ireland’s MK1 Productions. The project was presented at the Polish Days of the New Horizons International Film Festival, connecting cottbus and the Les Arcs Coproduction Village in 2018. It has also received support from the Polish Film InstituteScreen Ireland, the Mazovia Warsaw Film Fund, the Warmia-Masuria Film Fund and Eurimages. Negotiations with a Polish distributor are under way, while the world sales are still available.

Domalewski’s previous film, Silent Night, won the Golden Lions at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2017, as well as nine Eagles (the Polish Film Awards) in 2018. It was presented at a host of international film festivals, including Tbilisi, Raindance and Chicago. Domalewski is considered one of the most talented directors of his generation, while Kwieciński is one of the country’s emerging producers.
